Let Kunovice changes owner for the second time.
Ayres is out - - Moravan is in.
Ayres corporation a US aircraft manufacturer known for their Thrush
Ag-planes and lately known for their ambitious program of the Load-master went out of
business giving free the Czech Let company. There was some competition in acquiring Let or
what is left today of one of the biggest European aircraft manufactures. Some weeks ago
Randall Brink of Czech American Aerospace was in the lead but finally Czech aircraft
manufacturer Moravan has been winning the tender. Moravan Otrocovice today is producing
superb multi-roll trainers after a long history of building successful aerobatics planes.
They are although very strong in the sub-contracting business
manufacturing aviation parts for other important companies.
Under the Ayres company all activities were lined up to start one day
production of components for the cargo-master. The production of Let410/420 was stopped
and the development of the larger 610 model was more or less abandoned.
Now again with a Czech owner the future for Let aircraft will be
different and aviation history showed already very often that a come-back of a ones
popular design is possible.
